The Site:

DarkScenario is a community with a virtual art gallery that was established in 2003 to promote the work of truly talented non-professional and professional artists who create museum-quality artworks. A site for international artists who want to get better exposure through the Internet and who want to reach every art lover throughout the world. We are completely webbased and we focus on the dark, surreal, darkfiction and fantasy art, maybe the best digital art of the 21st century. Our site offers chosen artists a place where they can have virtual gallery rooms that can be accessed via the world-wide-web. A place where artists can come to learn and be inspired by other artworks and styles, and to show themselves and their art on the Internet.

The goal of every artist is to see his work recognized. Not all artists are able to achieve this ambition. Many of them are obliged to give up and work only for pleasure. It is for this reason that we decided to create an art gallery open to all those invited artists to exhibit. You will find there artists having followed a solid formation and having already an important background and others who, not having such a solid formation, can also be represented. The common link between them is the quality and the creative personality of each artist!

With the support of our past visitors, we welcome and assist thousands annual visitors, collectors, dealers, artists, writers and art lovers around the world. DarkScenario is enjoying rapid and diversified growth. We strive to present art to meet the demands of today’s growing markets. Nonetheless, while we continue to revive old artworks as well as add new ones, we are determined to grow in a reasonable fashion.

Who is working behind the scenes?

My name is Fred, roaming the world-wide-web aka. ‘Dark’.
Founder, owner, gatekeeper and webmaster of DarkScenario.

Born in Germany, 30 years old, not a native speaker. Do me a favour and point out any spelling mistake at any time. If you want to do this please feel free to use the contact form in the head navigation above and I will try to correct it immediately. DO NOT use the comments for this please! I´m system administrator in my real life job, doing alot of database coding and stuff like this. In my spare time I try to keep this page up to date, showing you some of the best digital dark/surreal artworks on the world-wide-web and sharing news and my knowledge with you, the reader.

I founded DarkScenario with a friend of mine called ‘lostdevil’. We talked about ”digital dark/surreal art” galleries on the web and that most of all online galleries were “widely opened” to all sort of artworks, even if the quality wasn´t good. At this point the idea was born to start our own webbased art gallery, with the focus on the “dark/surreal” styles. It was clear that this art gallery should become something special, not like most of the others were. We decided that it should be “invite only”, meaning we are deciding which artist is invited to show his/her artworks, and that´s simply the reason why the quality is extremely high.
